FAQ
Wallets and faucets
Why is topping up at Faucets such a chore?
Faucet providers have varying demands, some:
- Require some on-chain history (disallowing burner wallets)
- A mainnet ETH balance of at least 0.01 ETH
- A mainnet token of the mainnet network to acquire testnet tokens
- Require you to register and, even then, fail to provide a faucet that distributes testnet tokens
Why do I have to stake to become a Provider?
For incentivized Testnet, $NODE staking is not yet required.
For Mainnet, staking is an economic security measure that ensures only earnest compute providers can contribute to the NodeOps Network. It also ensures providers act in the best interest of the NodeOps Network by adding reliability and efficiency.
During the NodeOps Network Testnet phase, we will provide the Testnet $NODE to stake as part of the early bird campaign. All you need is testnet ETH on Arbitrum Sepolia as gas fees and any tokens required to satisfy the requirements of the faucet you use.
Are there any prerequisites to participate in NodeOps Network Quests?
A non-custodial EVM Wallet & testnet ETH on Arbitrum Sepolia are required to participate in our quests. Request on any existing public faucets, Consider the:
I have registered the wrong wallet address with my account, how can I change it?
Please fill out this form and we will take care of it.
Why do I have to pay for Node Deployment on Testnet?
The payment goes towards running and maintaining the infrastructure where nodes are deployed.
I cannot see the referral points getting updated.
You will see the points updating every hour.
Marketplace Infrastructure
Are the deployments on NodeOps Network as same as Node Deployments on Console?
Yes they are very similar.
When will I see more quests going live on the platform?
Every day or two, we’ll keep pushing new quests on the NodeOps Network console. The active quests are under the “Campaign Live” (green) tag, and the upcoming ones are under the “Coming Soon” (orange) tag.
After adding a machine, why is it in Pending/Configuring status?
You need to do the setup txn, please ensure you have enough ETH on Arbitrum Sepolia for gas fees.
Why is my machine rejected?
Your machine will be rejected if:
- It runs workloads in addition to the NodeOps Network assigned loads
- If SWAP is enabled
Why there is no workload on my machine? When would I get deployments on my machine?
In the early stages of NodeOps Network Testnet, we are testing the compute onboarding process. The next stage will add workload on the provided compute.
Why am I getting a copy error?
An error such as cannot create regular file '/usr/local/bin/atlasnetwork-provider': Permission denied
means you didn't create a user account at root for NodeOps Cloud with the correct permissions to run the code.
You can get around this on Ubuntu with sudo
. That means:
curl -L https://get.atlasnetwork.dev | sh -s - 9zvmdvJ****Secret*****w9PHZwP
becomes
sudo curl -L https://get.atlasnetwork.dev | sudo sh -s - 9zvmdvJ****Secret*****w9PHZwP
$NODE
What will I get with $NODE staking?
Until this is announced, participants earn Node Points not $NODE by taking part in quests on NodeOps Network with the potential of future airdrops for active participants.
Wen token?
$NODE has had its TGE and is live on Ethereum L1. It is not listed on any platform for sale at the moment. We will provide updates as soon as we are able.
General queries
What happened to Atlas Network?
The proof of concept campaign, Atlas Network, was so successful that NodeOps decided to take the plunge and bring the concept in-house rather than separate the business risks. We are in it to win it peeps! GM NodeOps Network.
Why does some of the docs content mention Atlas Network?
Atlas Network was a proof of concept campaign run by NodeOps. Bear with us as we rebrand this campaign to be an in-house effort.
NodeOps Console
What does NaaS mean in terms of node delegation?
NaaS stands for Node-as-a-Service. Typically, running a digital node requires specific hardware, reliable internet connectivity, and technical knowledge (Windows or Linux). With NaaS, particularly with NodeOps, you can outsource all these technical requirements. NodeOps Console handles hardware, node installation, and updates, and ensures 100% uptime. With just a few clicks, your node will be up and running without any technical expertise needed.
Can I ensure 100% uptime using NodeOps as a NaaS provider?
Asolutely. With several years of experience in blockchain and node management, NodeOps maintains thousands of Nodes. We offer dedicated customer support and high-spec hardware to ensure smooth Node operations and 100% uptime.
Why should I choose NodeOps Console to run Nodes?
By running your node with NodeOps, you earn Node Points, which can be redeemed later. You also gain exclusive access to future allowlisted and airdrop opportunities from our partner projects.
I'm a complete novice, can I still set up a Node?
Absolutely. We provide comprehensive tutorials in text and video formats to help you set up your Node without issues. Additionally, our support team is available via email and our ticketing system. We also offer 1-on-1 meetings with Node operators if needed.
